Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma on 26 and 27 May 2026 hosted the Afya Moja Final Event, marking the conclusion of the project. The event brought together representatives from severals African universities, alongside leading stakeholders in scientific, technological, and healthcare cooperation between Europe and Africa.
The event provided a unique platform for dialogue among universities, international organizations, funding agencies, and industry representatives committed to advancing sustainable health innovation across Africa. A dedicated session delivered by APRE – the Agency for the Promotion of European Research introduced participants 
to Horizon Europe funding opportunities, supporting the project’s objective of strengthening research and innovation capacities and fostering future EU–Africa collaborative projects.
Key contributions were delivered by representatives of United Nations agencies, including the World Health Organization (WHO), represented by Dr. Kylie Shae, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The discussions also involved international and national stakeholders, including Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, APRE – Agency for the Promotion of European Research, ICU – Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria, the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE), Enel Foundation, and Campus Bio-Medico S.p.A.
